Sol Brokerage

Secure the Highest Spot Price for Your SRECs

Sol Brokerage lets you take advantage of high solar renewable energy certificates (SREC) spot market prices without any effort or market knowledge required.  In one year alone, these SREC payments can cover 10% of total solar energy system costs.  We make it easy by:

  • Monitoring all solar renewable energy certificate trading platforms and legislative changes
  • Establishing an aggressive floor price that reflects current market conditions
  • Managing meter readings
  • Providing quarterly payment for solar RECs at the highest prices

Payment for your SRECs

We will sell your SRECs through SREC purchase agreements with utilities and energy suppliers, and we will pay you the weighted average of the SREC sales made in that quarter less a 5% brokerage fee.  For example, in a given quarter we might enter into three purchase agreements:

An agreement for (30) SRECs at $648

An agreement for (50) SRECs at $662

An agreement for (20) SRECs at $672

These three agreements allow us to sell (100) SRECS at a weighted average of $659.80 per SREC.  As a Sol Brokerage customer, you will receive the weighted average price of $659.80 for each SREC in your Sol Brokerage account, less the 5% brokerage fee, for a total of $626.89 per SREC.

We only accept new SREC purchase agreements with energy suppliers that allow us to clear our floor price.  Each quarter we analyze SREC prices  and market factors and we set an aggressive quarterly floor price and target price (see example in chart above).  If, for some reason, we are not able to sell all SRECs at a price above our floor price, we will hold your SRECs until the next quarterly cycle.

Expected prices

The value of SRECs will fluctuate as market factors change, but you can expect your SREC sales price to be more than our quarterly floor price and less than the Solar Alternative Compliance Payment (see SACP schedule).

If you would prefer to get guaranteed pricing for your SRECs, you should take advantage of our Sol Upfront and Sol Annuity options.
